‘A woman is raped every two hours’
Islamabad: In Pakistan, a woman is raped every two hours, according to a recent study.
Citing the current insecurity of women in the country, the study also pointed out that male homicides have increased in Pakistan.

According to a survey conducted by a Pakistani TV station based on data collected by the Punjab Ministry of Home Affairs and Human Rights, rape has recently increased in Pakistan, while the conviction rate for the perpetrators remains at 0.2 percent.
That is, based on the newly collected and consolidated data, 21,900 women have been raped in Pakistan from 2017 to 2021.

According to this data, 12 women are raped every day in the country. Or the study reports the shocking information that a woman is raped every two hours. In 2017 alone, 3,327 people were raped, 4,456 in 2018, 4,573 in 2019 and 4,478 in 2020. Meanwhile, it has increased to 5,169 in 2021.
