The Shooting World Cup continues in Baku.

İdman.biz reports that the final round of women’s pistol shooting from 25 meters took place today.

Athletes from Korea won gold and silver medals. Yeji Kim won and Jin Yang took second place. Josephine Eder from Germany experienced the joy of a bronze medal at the World Championships for the second time in a row. Kim set a new world record in this event, shooting 42 times accurately.

The most surprising moment of the final was that Doren Wennekamp, representing Germany, again finished without a medal.

The German athlete, who won gold medals 3 times at the World Cup, 3 times at the European Championships and 2 times at the World Championships, commented on the failure he encountered in Baku:

“I always liked shooting at the Baku Shooting Center. It gives me pleasure to perform here. I have wonderful memories of Baku, I won medals and was awarded the title of world champion. We have been participating in many tournaments lately. So it can be a little tedious. Things didn’t go as I expected. At the final stage you need to be careful. We have made some changes to the shooting technique. But it wasn’t as effective as before. That’s why it influenced the result.”

He said that he was glad to see his compatriot Josephine Eder in the final:

“We are both athletes who are always preparing for the final. I’m very glad that everything turned out well today. She showed determination in the main stage. Although I’m fourth myself, overall it’s a good picture for the German team.”

Note that the World Championship will end on May 11.
