A shopping center under construction collapsed in the port city of Abadan on Monday. More bodies are believed to be under the rubble. Now there are protests against the builders.
The death toll has risen to 29 after a shopping center under construction collapsed in south-west Iran. This was announced by Interior Minister Ahmad Wahidi on Saturday, according to the Tasnim news agency.
More bodies are believed to be under the rubble. The rescue work would be made more difficult by the danger of collapse, according to the minister.
According to media reports, sloppy construction work led to the collapse in the port city of Abadan on Monday. The project manager and ten other people involved are said to have been arrested. The owner of the passage died in the collapse.
