DECRYPTION – After more than a month of consultations, the executive has finally lifted the veil on its unemployment insurance reform. With in particular the modification of the rules of compensation according to the economic situation. But also three new measures as well as an extension.

After more than a month of negotiations between the two parliamentary chambers and multiple compromises found with the right, deputies and senators adopted last Thursday the bill paving the way for a modulation of unemployment insurance. The text, which serves as a basis for the new ambitions of the executive, initially makes it possible to extend the current rules before starting on 1is February, by decree, the modification of the rules of compensation according to the economic situation. Not only does the law defended by the Minister of Labour, Olivier Dussopt, provide a legal framework for this major change in philosophy, but it does not stop there. It records the entry into force of three new measures as well as an extension.

• Post abandonment

This is one of the two surprise measures in this bill. Carried by an amendment of the majority but also of the LRs, this provision consists in assimilating a “pole abandonment” to a resignation, and therefore the employees who resort to it…
