Four identical amendments to the bill on unemployment insurance. One filed by LR and the other three by the majority groups, Renaissance, MoDem and Horizon. The subject is old: the phenomenon of job abandonment. Today, it is perfectly legal, employees stop coming to work, end up being made redundant, after which they receive unemployment. Macronists and LR agree: this practice constitutes a deviation from the principle of compensation, “a flaw” as the Minister of Labor, Olivier Dussopt, said. It was LR who was the first to table an amendment in committee so that employees in a situation of job abandonment are now considered as resigners not entitled to unemployment benefits.
