Jaffna. Jaffna City Chief Minister Attorney V. has canceled the charges for two-wheeler carts in city areas from today (24). Manivannan announced.

The Jaffna Municipal Council had awarded the contract to the contractors to collect the parking fees from the people who park their vehicles on the streets in the central areas of Jaffna.

Toll charges were levied on vehicles, motorcycles and two-wheelers. The contractors have been instructed by the Chief Minister to refrain from depositing charges for two-wheelers in response to a demand made by several parties not to deposit parking charges for two-wheelers.

At the same time, the chief minister informed that many complaints have been received regarding the employees of the contractors and warned that the contractors should monitor the behavior of the employees and if any complaints are received regarding the employees, the contracts will be cancelled.

In particular, the chief minister informed that the charges such as throwing betel leaves, speaking rude words, and not wearing proper clothes have been brought before the toll collection staff.
