Bangalore: Four members of a family were burnt to death when an AC exploded in Vijayanagara district of Karnataka. The couple and their two children were killed. The incident took place at 12.40 am yesterday. The fire was caused by a short circuit caused by a gas leak from the AC ventilator. The national media reported that the entire house was destroyed by the fire.
The incident took place at Mariammanahalli in Vijayanagara district. The deceased have been identified as Venkat Prashanth (42), wife D Chandrakala (38), son Advik (6) and daughter Prerana (8). Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Police say it is suspected to be a suicide.
