The actress Catherine Lachens, a figure in comedies of the 70s and 80s, also seen in Gazon maudit and the successful series Scènes deménage, has died at the age of 78, her entourage announced to AFP. She died on Wednesday September 27 of cancer “against which she had been fighting for several months, in a Parisian hospital”.
An actress with a prolific career, Catherine Lachens filmed for Georges Lautner, Yves Boisset and Jacques Deray in the 70s and 80s where she stood out for her cheekiness.
She was seen in particular in Flic ou rogue, I’m shy but I look after myself and also had a career in the theater, alternating between classic and contemporary plays.
Rarer on screen from the 90s onwards, she delighted the public in Gazon maudit, then Bidochon. More recently, she made an appearance in the series Scènes deménage.
