Actress Jandira Martini dies, aged 78

Actress Jandira Martini passed away on Monday night (29) in São Paulo. Born in the city of Santos, she was 78 years old and treated for lung cancer.

In addition to acting, she was also an author, director and theater producer. In her long television career, she stood out for participating in soap operas such as O Clone, Path to the Indies, America e Hail George among others.

Actor Marcos Caruso, Jandira’s friend for more than 40 years, wrote on his social networks:

“My greatest friend is proof that opposites attract and complement each other. Together we write plays, film scripts, series and soap operas. My great confidant, advisor and responsible for my biggest laughs. My teacher. You know when you go through school where you studied and see that the building was demolished? That’s how I feel about your departure”, he highlighted.

Jandira’s wake will be at the Funeral Home, in the Bela Vista neighborhood, from 8pm. Her body will be cremated in the crematorium of the Vale dos Pinheirais cemetery, in the city of Mauá, in the ABC region of São Paulo, tomorrow, the 31st.

The ceremonies will be restricted to family and friends.
