A highly accomplished coach with a proven track record of success,Adam Butler,has joined the North Florida men’s soccer program as an assistant coach,the university announced Friday. Butler brings extensive collegiate coaching experiance and a deep understanding of the Florida soccer landscape to the Ospreys.
A Winning Pedigree
The addition of Butler is expected to significantly strengthen the north Florida program. He arrives from Eastern Florida College, where he recently concluded a four-year tenure as head coach, amassing an notable 50-15-5 record. During his time with the Titans, Butler guided the team to three consecutive NJCAA Division I National Tournament appearances, from 2022 through 2025.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Adam Butler as our new Assistant Coach for the North Florida Men’s Soccer program,” stated the head coach. “Adam brings a wealth of experience at the collegiate level, great knowledge of the game, a strong eye for recruiting and a proven competitive edge from his previous roles. Recent Success at Eastern Florida
In his most recent season, Butler led Eastern Florida to a 12-4-1 record, while also mentoring two players who earned 2025 United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division I All-America Team selections. The Titans also secured their third-straight Region 8 Tournament and Southwest District title under his leadership.
Prior to his time at Eastern Florida, Butler made a significant impact at Coastal Bend College, leading the program to its first-ever Region XIV Regular Season Championship and a berth in the NJCAA Division I National Championship Tournament in 2021.
Playing and Coaching Background
Butler’s coaching journey began after a distinguished playing career at Southwestern Christian University. A standout midfielder, he earned Sooner Athletic conference First Team All-Conference honors in both 2014 and 2015, and was named a National Soccer Coaches Association of America All-Region Second Team selection in 2015. He further cemented his legacy as the program’s first NAIA All-American that same year.
Following his graduation, Butler transitioned to coaching, serving as the top assistant coach for the Eagles, contributing to three National Christian Athletic Association Championship titles in 2016, 2017, and 2018 with a 54-14-7 overall record. He also gained experience playing with the Vermont Voltage, Laredo heat, and Mississippi Brilla, and served on staff with the UPSL’s Oklahoma City 1889.
