Kuwait City: Minister of Health Dr. Ahmed Al Awadi said that advertisements from the health sector will be restricted in Kuwait. The new rules will apply to advertisements on billboards and social media platforms.

The new rule aims to monitor advertisements and ensure their integrity. Advertisements relating to medicines, health preparations and medical devices are also restricted in detail. At the same time, the authorities informed that prior permission should be obtained from the Ministry of Health for conducting surveys and advertisements in the medical sector.

Advertisement should provide accurate information about the product. It is against the law to advertise the benefits of medicines and to show that they have non-existent benefits. Officials have clarified that the new regulations are being implemented with the aim of ensuring the authenticity of medical advertisements and imposing restrictions on the private sector.
