Aether Energy and Hero MotoCorp Announce Joint Venture to Set Up Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Aether Energy, a leading manufacturer of electric two-wheelers, has announced a joint venture with two-wheeler manufacturing giant Hero MotoCorp to set up and provide charging stations for electric vehicles. The move comes in response to the increasing number of electric vehicles on the roads and the shortage of charging stations, which has been a major problem for the industry.

The joint venture aims to address the shortage of charging stations by setting up 1000 high-speed charging points in 100 cities, making it the world’s first operational fast charging network for electric two-wheelers. Customers will be able to locate charging stations through the “My Vida” and Aether app and also check if the charging stations are empty.

Aether Energy has recently received approval from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for its Light Electric Combined Charging System (LECS), which can charge two, three, and four wheelers. The company has already set up more than 1,400 fast chargers in 100 cities and plans to install more than 100 fast chargers at PPCL locations across India by the end of this year.

Swadesh Srivastava, Chief Commercial Officer of Hero MotoCorp, commented on the joint venture, stating that “This largest charging network in the country will provide a seamless and convenient experience to customers, ensuring that long distance journeys can be undertaken without difficulty. This fast-growing network ensures government-approved connectivity and standards, allowing current and future customers to continue to use and charge their vehicles without any disruption in the future.”

Swapnil Jain, co-founder of Aether, expressed his excitement about the partnership with Hero MotoCorp, stating that “This partnership will provide consumers with an extensive network of charging stations across the country.”

The joint venture between Aether Energy and Hero MotoCorp is a significant step towards addressing the shortage of charging stations for electric vehicles in India and is expected to encourage more people to adopt electric vehicles in the future.
