BOLZANO. Saturday and Sunday (10th and 11th August) temperatures will be above 35 degrees. The alert bulletin therefore indicates the second level of orange alert in Bolzano, in the Adige Valley and in the plains.
Today (August 9) temperatures will rise to around 34 degrees in the south of South Tyrol, summarizes meteorologist Philipp Tartarotti of the Office for Meteorology and Avalanche Prevention: tomorrow and the day after tomorrow it will be a little warmer, with temperatures in the Bolzano area, in the Adige Valley and in the plains rising to a good 35 degrees.
Next week will remain in the middle of summer and no fresh air is expected for the time being. So far this summer, some weather stations have exceeded 35 degrees in the days between July 28 and 31: the highest temperature so far was reached in Bressanone on July 30 with 36.3 degrees, while the highest temperature this summer in Bolzano was recorded on July 31 with 35.8 degrees.
Due to the continuing extreme temperatures, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow the Alert bulletin of the Provincial Functional Center will be at the second highest level, orange. Since traffic is expected to increase these days, it is important to take some preventive measures.
Recommended behavior in case of extreme temperatures
Heat can put your health at risk. In particular, the elderly, the sick and children should protect themselves from the heat. To survive prolonged extreme temperatures, it is important to follow basic recommendations: it is important to make sure you drink enough fluids and eat light foods at regular times. Avoid being under the scorching sun. Physical exertion should be avoided during the hottest hours. If you travel by car, do not forget to drink plenty of water. Homes should be protected from direct sunlight during the day by closing curtains and blinds and ventilated at night and in the early hours of the morning.
