Afro Nation Portugal Announces Davido and Rema for 2027 Lineup

Afro Nation Portugal has confirmed Davido, Rema, and Fally Ipupa as headliners for its seventh edition, running from June 9 to 11, 2027, at Praia da Rocha beach in Portimão. Organizers released the initial lineup, shifting the festival dates earlier into the European summer.

The world’s largest celebration of Afrobeats, amapiano, and African music is returning to the Algarve coast with a revised schedule. Moving away from its traditional July window, Afro Nation Portugal will bring crowds to Praia da Rocha from June 9 to June 11, 2027. For 2027, the festival is shifting to earlier dates, scheduling the three-day event on the Algarve beach right at the beginning of the European summer. That shift follows Afro Nation Portugal 2026, which ran from 3rd-5th July. Fans can secure their entry when presale tickets launch at 10am BST on Tuesday 29th September, followed by the general sale at 10am BST on Wednesday 30th September. Fans can sign up now via afronation.com.

Headliners Davido, Rema, and Fally Ipupa Return to Portimão

Three major international forces anchor the primary LIT Stage for the upcoming seventh edition. Fresh from releasing his album Oriadé, Davido comes back to Praia da Rocha as a central figure in contemporary Afrobeats. Having previously headlined in 2023, the Lagos-born artist makes his return backed by a catalog of stadium anthems and collaborations that have propelled the genre globally. Rema has been on a steep rise since his headline debut at Afro Nation Portugal 2024. Calm Down remains one of the biggest African crossover hits of all time, second album HEIS earned him a GRAMMY Awards nomination in the Best Global Music Album category, and he returns to Praia da Rocha following those milestones.

Congolese singer Fally Ipupa rounds out the top of the billing alongside Davido and Rema on the LIT Stage. Instagram served as the platform for the organisers to reveal the initial wave of performers, officially announcing the three acts as main headliners for the seventh outing. Davido, Rema and Ipupa have all previously performed at Afro Nation Portugal. The announcement was made with the message, YOUR ANP27 PHASE 1 LINEUP JUST DROPPED. The wait is over, followed by a call for fans to sign up for priority ticket access.

Global Waves and Caribbean Representation on the Main Stage

Beyond the headliners, the LIT Stage features an expansive roster of international talent bridging different musical genres. Omah Lay, Shenseea, Victony, Odeal, Valiant, and Rayvanny are also part of the bill.

The initial lineup also highlights breakout Caribbean artists making major moves on international festival stages. Afro Nation Portugal 2027 has officially added female vocalists MiiMii KDS and Bamby to its opening artist wave. Both MiiMii KDS—the young bouyon singer from Guadeloupe—and Bamby have secured spots on the main Lit Stage lineup. Pour MiiMii KDS, cette annonce marque une nouvelle étape dans une ascension fulgurante. Son tube « Sé Miimii », sorti en juillet 2025, cumule près de 12 millions de vues sur YouTube.

Dedicated Zones for Amapiano and Afrotronic Sounds

The festival continues to dedicate specific stages to distinct subgenres and electronic movements. Meanwhile, the Piano People Stage will host performances by Kabza De Small, TxC, Dlala Thukzin, 031 Choppa, 2woBunnies, Benzo, Thatohatsi, Uncool MC, W4DE, Young Stunna et Zee Nxumalo.
