From April 4 to 11, the European Weightlifting Championship will start in Israel, in which, naturally, Armenian weightlifters will also participate. Life.panorama.am spoke with one of the participants, weightlifter Meline Daluzyan.
– Now you are preparing for the European Championship, yes?
– Yes, the last preparatory meetings will be held soon.
– What kind of shape are you in now?
– Well, I have recovered quite well after the operations. Now I will try to perform as well as possible for myself, for my status in this championship.
– Naturally, the desire and goal to return victorious is great.
– At the moment, the goal is to lift a little more than the kilograms I have lifted. And I don’t even want to think about the medal yet.
– Everyone knows you as a sportsman. Are you not interested in another profession?
– First of all, I’m not interested in anything but sports… Now I’m trying to go deeper into sports, to prove something. And after I leave sports, I will think about another profession… I have a higher education in pedagogy and law, I will probably choose one of the two and continue.
– Meline, you have no shortage of personal conversations and gossip… How do you relate?
– I try not to listen to bad language at all, I don’t notice either those conversations or the comments about them. Naturally, those conversations have an effect in every way, but I try not to take them seriously and not pay attention… Although I can’t avoid them either… In any case, we have already learned that such things should be ignored and moved aside…
– Do you have close girlfriends or do you avoid communicating with many people?
– It’s not that I avoid it, but there is no time to contact anyone. The sports world, sports life takes quite a lot of time and it becomes impossible to devote time to everyday life. At the moment I have very few friends, I have one boy friend and one girl friend…
– But, in any case, when you have a little free time, how do you like to spend it?
– You mentioned that if very correctly, because even if we are not at the meetings, we train at home… And if I have that little time, I follow the internet. Mostly I like reading and watching interesting movies… The moment dictates, I don’t plan how I should spend my free time.
– Don’t you love clubs and gatherings?
– (Laughs) There are no such institutions in Gyumri, nor do I have any. If there are gatherings sometimes, maybe I will participate, but I have no love for such events, the representatives of the sports world try to avoid such gatherings…
– Are you one of the “strong” girls? Naturally, you can protect yourself not only from psychological attacks, but also from physical ones… Do you often have occasions for self-defense?
– I have never felt the need for physical self-defense. At least I’m not in a situation where I need to defend myself.
– Are you cautious by nature?
– I don’t know, but I like caution to some extent.
– Let’s talk a little about your family… Are you the only child at home or…?
– No, I have two sisters and one brother. All three are married and have families of their own.
– Do you have disagreements with each other, do you get into problems?
– No, we don’t have any problems at all. Our problems were probably only in childhood, like all children…
– By the way, now we are in the framework of women’s and girls’ holiday, one month. In the mood for the holidays?
– To be honest, as I said a little while ago, I am very busy, I also don’t like events… I don’t even feel that it’s a holiday now, and it’s been a month… I’ve detached myself from all that. I am preparing for the European Championship. I try not to pay attention to everything in order to act normally…
– You may not want to get distracted and forget about all that, but those who remember this holiday, may not forget you… Calls, gifts, congratulations, flowers…
– Well, I must say that after March 8, during that one month, no one remembers anyone, they only remember on April 7 (laughs)… Well, those who remember March 8 remembered me, those who don’t remember me…
