The minister of the GSI (Institutional Security Office), Gonçalves Dias, presented a certificate and missed today the scheduled hearing at the Chamber’s Public Security Commission.
What happened
The session was scheduled for 2 pm. His participation in the session had been agreed upon, by invitation, by the collegiate leaders. The certificate was presented after security camera footage from the Planalto Palace showed the general guiding Bolsonarists during the coup acts on January 8 — the video was revealed today by CNN.
There was an agreement with the benches to approve, this afternoon, a summons from the minister, according to the chairman of the committee, deputy Ubiratan Sanderson (PL-RS). The expectation is that it will be next Wednesday (26). The date, however, will be set during today’s session.
The certificate informs an “acute clinical condition, with the need for medication and observation” — the document was signed by the doctor João Luiz Henrique da Silveira. There were no further details about his health status.

Looking at the video, it is very clear the illegitimate contribution of the Chief Minister of the GSI to these criminals. Because those who invaded there, vandals, are criminals. They should have been treated like criminal vandals, they weren’t treated. They were treated, I would even say, with a certain amount of advice.”
Those pictures speak for themselves. Everyone who watched that video sees clearly, flagrantly an advisory action by him towards those who invaded the Planalto Palace there on January 8.”
As chief minister of the GSI, as President Lula’s trusted man, were all these actions that he was doing known to the President of the Republic or not? That’s the question in the air.”
A resignation at this point would almost be an admission of guilt. If he resigns, fleeing the front right now would be, in my view, I don’t want to make any advance judgments, but in my view he will be pleading guilt if he resigns.”
