After settling the political issues, Armenia will be ready to buy gas from Azerbaijan, according to the APA agency, TCE Deputy Minister Hakob Vardanyan said during the “Silk Road” international conference in Tbilisi.

“Hopefully that will happen in the next few years. We had a similar experience in the Soviet years. We used to get gas from Azerbaijan, we had three giant gas pipelines coming from there, now, if there are no unresolved political issues between the countries, we can restore them. We can also be a transit country for transporting gas from Azerbaijan to Europe. The same applies to electricity. We are ready to restore those communications. It can change the energy diversification of the region,” Vardanyan said, according to APA agency.

The publication also mentions that Vardanyan spoke about the possibilities of transferring and exporting electricity from Azerbaijan to Turkey and vice versa through Armenia if the borders are open.
