The Impact France Movement, which brings together entrepreneurs from the social and solidarity economy (ESS), set up on Wednesday May 24 a new direction favorable to greater openness of this sector towards the economy. “classic”during an election without surprise but preceded by a lively internal controversy.

The only candidates, Pascal Demurger, managing director of the mutual insurer MAIF, and Julia Faure, co-founder of the so-called responsible clothing brand Loom, were largely elected to the co-presidency of this body which brings together some 900 entrepreneurs and SSE leaders. , said in a press release the management of Impact France.

Lives controversial

This apparently consensual election had however been preceded by a lively controversy within the world of the SSE: in recent weeks, actors have cried out that their ideals have been betrayed, because the new leadership of the movement wants to open it up more to companies “classics” – who say they share the values of the SSE, but do not fulfill the criteria for ESUS approval (solidarity enterprise of social utility), such as, for example, the ceiling on the salaries of their executives or bosses.

Leaders like Jean-Pierre Farandou (SNCF) or Stanislas Niox-Chateau (Doctolib) were thus elected on Wednesday to the movement’s new board of directors. The economic world “must transform, mobilize, get involved to try to change the situation” and it is about “bringing together all the companies that share” this vision, argued Pascal Demurger.
