jpnn.com – The United States government is again targeting Chinese technology companies, namely DJI.

Previously, the United States had just passed a law that could potentially block TikTok’s operations there.

The New York Times reported that the House of Energy and Commerce Committee, a committee in the US House of Representatives, last month passed a bill that could potentially ban DJI drones.

The bill is called the Countering CCP Drones Act which was initiated by a member of the US House of Representatives from the Republican Party, Elise Stefanik.

He said the government suspected DJI had provided China with information related to critical infrastructure in the US.

“DJI poses an unacceptable national security risk, and it is time for drones made by Communist China to be removed from America,” Stefanik told NYT, as quoted by The Verge, Saturday (27/4).

The bill would put DJI drones in the Federal Communication Commission (FCC) black book, which falls under the Secure and Trusted Communications Networks Act.

The rule prohibits communications equipment or services that pose a national security risk from operating on US networks.
