Agadir: ADD organizes awareness and communication workshops on Open Data

Initiated in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), these meetings, which continue until October 20, aim to emphasize the importance of open data, particularly in terms of transparency of public action as well as their impact on socio-economic development, entrepreneurship and public governance.

Speaking on this occasion, the Director General of the ADD, Sidi Mohammed Drissi Melyani indicated that open data is part of supporting the efforts made by the administration on the path to digital transition, as well as the strengthening transparency, citizen participation and digital development.

And to add that the ADD, through the organization of these communication workshops for the benefit of decentralized administrations, public establishments and local authorities, aims to examine the means of cooperation capable of accelerating the implementation of its projects at the level of each region of the Kingdom.

In 2020, the ADD, in partnership with the World Bank, carried out a study on the development of open data which resulted in a set of recommendations which made it possible to develop a national action plan on open data, a- he recalled.

For her part, the head of the digital transition division at ADD, Nourdine Lassfer, stressed that these awareness and communication workshops on Open Data aim to develop the use of open data, and to strengthen transparency and the participation of citizens in the management of local affairs.

For his part, the Wali of the Souss-Massa region, Governor of the Prefecture of Agadir-Ida Outanane, Ahmed Hajji, affirmed that these meetings which are part of the support of the new national transition strategy digital by 2030, aim to highlight the major role of open data in the digital transition and their contribution to the process of integrated and sustainable socio-economic development.

The ADD is responsible for implementing the State strategy for digital development and promoting the dissemination of digital tools and the development of their use among citizens.

It adopts a participatory approach with all stakeholders (public and private sector, civil society) and ensures coordination and consultation around the multiple issues of digital transformation and its impact on the global environment (administration, business, citizen ).
