Teammates Rally to Secure Korea’s Spot in the Finals
Kim Ga-eun, ranked 17th, dominated Talitha Ramadani Wiriyawan (67th) in the first singles match, winning 2-0 with scores of 21-4 and 21-5. The doubles duo of Baek Hana and Kim Hye-jeong then solidified Korea’s lead with a decisive 2-0 victory (21-14, 21-10). While Park Ga-eun faced a setback in the second singles match, losing 0-2 (14-21, 13-21), the doubles team of Lee Seo-jin and Lee Yeon-woo clinched the final point with a 2-0 win (21-19, 21-19), propelling Korea into the championship round.
Korea previously defeated Singapore 5-0 and Chinese Taipei 4-1 in the group stage, followed by a 3-0 quarterfinal victory over Malaysia. This strong performance has already guaranteed their participation in the Denmark Uber Cup in April. A semifinal or better finish in that tournament will secure their spot in the Uber Cup finals.

The Korean team will face a formidable opponent in the finals: China. Having finished as runners-up in 2020 and 2022, Korea is aiming to capture its first-ever Asian team championship title when they compete against China on February 8th.
