AI Bot Network Leaks Human Data | Vibe-Coded Security Flaw

by Priyanka Patel

A newly launched social network, Moltbook, designed for AI agents, suffered a significant security breach that exposed sensitive data, according to research published Monday by cybersecurity firm Wiz. The vulnerability compromised private messages between the AI agents, along with the email addresses of over 6,000 human users and more than a million credentials.

The flaw was addressed after Wiz alerted Moltbook to the issue. Wiz cofounder Ami Luttwak characterized the incident as a typical outcome of what he termed “vibe coding.” Moltbook’s creator, Matt Schlicht, stated last Friday on X that he “didn’t write one line of code” for the platform. He did not respond to a request for comment from Reuters. Luttwak also noted that the vulnerability permitted anyone—whether a bot or a human—to post on the site, as there was “no verification of identity.”
