Former Apple Designer’s Screen-Less Artificial Intelligence Device Set for 2024 Release
Ai Pin, a screen-less artificial intelligence portable device, is expected to hit the market in March 2024. This innovative product was created by Humane, founded by former Apple employee interface designer Imran Chaudhri and his wife Bethany Bongiorno.
The device, which runs on two sets of batteries, is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon processor, a depth-of-field-aware photography lens, and a clamp for wearing on the body. Ai Pin operates without a screen and relies on interactions through the microphone or a virtual keyboard through built-in projection capabilities.
According to reports, Ai Pin will operate through a subscription service provided by T-Mobile and will connect to either OpenAI or Microsoft’s artificial intelligence model. The device aims to provide natural interactions with users through its built-in microphone, offering various artificial intelligence services such as answering questions, language translation, and computer vision analysis to determine the nutritional value of photographed food.
Pre-orders for Ai Pin are currently open on the official website, with the product being available in Eclipse Black and Moonlight White for $699. Additionally, a new Equinox Chrome color variant is set to be launched at a price of $799.
After the first wave of orders begins shipping in March 2024, subsequent orders will follow. Humane has confirmed that the device will be available for shipping in sequence.
