Chery Unveils AiMOGA Robotics: A Leap Toward Embodied Intelligence and a “Third Growth Curve”
Chery, a leading automotive manufacturer, is aggressively expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities beyond the vehicle, unveiling its AiMOGA Robotics division as a key component of its future growth strategy. The company showcased its advancements at the “Technology Meets AI” 2026 Chery AI Night, held January 17 in Wuhu, Anhui Province, signaling a significant move toward embodied intelligence and real-world robotic applications.
From Algorithms to Action: The Rise of Embodied AI
As AI evolves, the focus is shifting from purely computational power to integrating intelligence with the physical world. This transition is driving the development of embodied intelligence, a concept that emphasizes physical presence, autonomous action, and real-time feedback. Unlike traditional AI systems reliant on screens or voice commands, embodied intelligence allows for perception, decision-making, and execution within dynamic, real-world environments.
“AI is moving beyond algorithms and computing power toward deeper integration with the physical world,” a company release stated, highlighting the core philosophy behind AiMOGA Robotics. The division aims to extend AI’s reach from the digital realm into everyday life and public service.
A Robot Family for Diverse Applications
Chery’s AiMOGA Robotics demonstrated a diverse portfolio of robots at the AI Night, showcasing a “full robot family” designed for a wide range of scenarios. A dedicated exhibition zone allowed visitors to interact with the robots firsthand, observing their capabilities in practical applications.
Among the featured robots were the “Wuyou” Intelligent Police R001, a traffic police robot, and the “AiMOGA Care” RN001, a medical service robot. These demonstrations highlighted how embodied intelligence can support communication, guidance, and collaboration in real-world settings, quickly becoming a popular attraction at the event.
Beyond Automobiles: AiMOGA as a Strategic Growth Driver
While automobiles remain central to Chery’s AI strategy, AiMOGA Robotics represents a significant diversification effort. The company views the division as a key “third growth curve,” working in synergy with smart mobility, intelligent manufacturing, and the broader human–vehicle–home ecosystem.
By 2025, AiMOGA had already deployed 300 robots and 1,000 robotic dogs across more than 30 countries and regions. Furthermore, its humanoid robot, Mornine, has secured both hardware and software certifications from the European Union, paving the way for global expansion. “AiMOGA remains committed to building a trusted human intelligent assistant through practical technology and real-world applications,” according to a senior official.
This strategic expansion into robotics underscores Chery’s ambition to become a leading force in the broader AI landscape, leveraging its existing expertise in intelligent systems and manufacturing to deliver innovative solutions beyond the automotive industry.
