Airkey Expands Global Reach with Custom Modular Cleanroom Solutions
Airkey, a leading Chinese manufacturer specializing in modular cleanrooms, is rapidly expanding its international footprint, delivering tailored solutions to highly regulated industries across the globe. With over 20 years of experience, the company designs, innovates, and builds cleanrooms ranging from 5 to over 1,500 square meters, serving sectors including pharmaceutical, semiconductor, and food production in over 60 countries, including Iceland.
Airkey’s commitment to precision and adaptability is evident in its recent projects, showcasing a diverse range of cleanroom designs optimized for specific client needs.
Meeting Stringent US Pharmaceutical Standards with USP <797> Compliance
The United States Pharmacopeia (USP) <797> standard, governing the compounding of sterile preparations, is often more critical for US pharmaceutical companies than Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations. Recognizing this, Airkey recently completed a 22-square-meter ISO 7 modular cleanroom for a client in Georgia, adhering strictly to USP <797> guidelines.
The facility features segregated entrances for personnel and materials, a dedicated Personnel Air Lock (PAL) room for gowning, and a Material Air Lock (MAL) room with a pass box for safe transfer of items. According to a company release, the cleanroom was fully prefabricated in Airkey’s factory, complete with pre-installed American-type power outlets and a pre-commissioned automatic sliding door, minimizing on-site disruption.
Precision Control for Semiconductor Manufacturing
In the same timeframe, Airkey delivered a modular cleanroom solution to a German client in the semiconductor industry. This project highlighted the critical need for particulate control and environmental regulation in advanced manufacturing.
The cleanroom boasts an ISO 6 clean class achieved through extensive use of H14 HEPA filters. Furthermore, it incorporates a modular HVAC system utilizing a Direct Expansion (DX) system, offering rapid response to load changes and reduced installation costs for small-to-medium spaces. Airkey’s HVAC system also holds CE certification, making it an attractive option for European customers.
Tailored Solutions for Diverse Pharmaceutical Needs
Airkey offers a portfolio of cleanroom designs to address varying pharmaceutical requirements. The AK-LIGHT modular cleanroom, built for a Canadian client, utilizes lightweight aluminum frames and transparent acrylic wall panels for rapid installation and cost savings.
Alternatively, the AK-CASTLE modular cleanroom, designed for a US pharmaceutical company, prioritizes integration with existing infrastructure. This flexible and expandable system employs 50 mm thick sandwich panels and glazed windows for superior thermal insulation. It also features air risers and duct collars for seamless connection to existing HVAC systems, alongside custom-made doors with aluminum frames and tempered glass. Covings are strategically mounted to prevent dust accumulation and simplify cleaning procedures.
