AK 61 Update: While the film is expected to be ready in the Strength Alliance, the crew is making some changes in the sequel.
Ajith’s recent strength film has received mixed reviews but has garnered rave reviews. The film grossed over Rs 200 crore. The film, which was released on ODT a month after its theatrical release, is set to break even. Accordingly, the film became a record stream of over 500 million minutes in a single week of its release on ODT.
Following this, actor Ajith is currently preparing to act in AK61. H. Vinod, the director of Valimai, is also going to direct this film. Produced by Bonnie Kapoor, the film stars Ajith in a dual role as a hero and a villain. The film is said to be ready with a focus on bank robbery.
It has been reported that Ajith will be paired with Aditi Rao in the film, along with popular Malayalam actor Mohanlal and Telugu actor Nagarjuna in the lead roles. Preliminary work on the film is in full swing.
While the film is expected to be ready in the Strength Alliance, the crew is making some changes in the sequel. Zibran was originally contracted to replace Yuvan Shankar Raja in the film. Currently the stunt master has also been replaced. Dileep Subramaniam, who received accolades for setting up intimidating stunt scenes in Valimai, was not featured in AK61.
