Al-Aqouri discusses with the Greek Consul the latest political developments and cooperation programs between the two countries

Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives, Youssef Al-Aqouri, met with the Greek Consul, Agapios Kalognomis, at the headquarters of the House of Representatives in the city of Benghazi.

House of Representatives spokesman, Abdullah Belhaq, said on Wednesday: The meeting discussed the latest political developments in the country and cooperation programs between the two sides.

In turn, the Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee explained during the meeting that there is a close connection between the security and stability of Libya and Europe, stressing the position of the House of Representatives on the necessity of the departure of all foreign forces and mercenaries from Libyan territory as a condition for the stability of the country.

Regarding the migration file, Al-Aqouri stressed the necessity of joint coordination between Libya and the Republic of Greece to confront the unprecedented migration flows, which have become a major challenge for everyone, offering his thanks to the Republic of Greece for the support it provides to Libya on various issues, especially after Hurricane Daniel.

The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives also stressed the importance of having a Greek consulate in the city of Benghazi, to facilitate travel procedures for citizens of the two countries, praising the Greek school that always kept its doors open even in the difficult times that the city of Benghazi went through, which will reflect positively on the relations between the two countries.
