Today, Sunday, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubarqa’, received the President of the Qatari International Billiards Federation, Sheikh Mubarak Hamad Al-Khayarin, and discussed with him ways to host Baghdad’s World Billiards Championship this year, in the presence of the President of the Iraqi Billiards and Snooker Federation, Shams al-Din al-Kanani, and members of the federation’s administrative body.

A statement by the Media Office of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, received by the (INA), stated that “Al-Mubarqa listened to a detailed explanation from the President of the Iraqi Federation, about the game in general and how to develop it and support it in foreign forums, indicating that today’s meeting came to complete the requirements for holding the World Championship for the game with support and sponsorship.” Minister of Youth and Sports.”.
Al-Mubarqa’ stressed that “the Ministry is fully prepared to meet all the requirements for the success of the tournament in Baghdad, directing the formation of a committee concerned with this issue whose mission is to arrange the tournament’s procedures in cooperation with the local and international federations,” pointing at the same time to supporting the sport of billiards by women, and providing everything that would advance it. “.
For his part, Sheikh Mubarak praised Iraq and its achievements at all levels, in addition to the capabilities possessed by the Iraqi player, who surprises us by achieving great results, expressing his admiration for the large Iraqi audience and their splendid presence during the Asian Football Championship in Qatar, and that his coming today is only an expression. He expressed his love for Iraq, stressing his support and support for Baghdad’s hosting of the world championship, and his coming to Iraq for the first time is nothing but a serious expression of this issue.
