Al-Mubda Production Company Recreates 1940s Gulf Life in Hudb Ayni

Production is underway on Hudb Ayni, a 30-episode Gulf heritage television series slated for the Ramadan broadcast season, exploring 1940s village life, human values, and high-stakes financial conflict against the backdrop of traditional desert and community settings.

The Production Scale and 1940s Visual Reconstruction of Hudb Ayni

The upcoming dramatic epic brings television audiences back to the lifestyle of the Gulf region during the 1940s and earlier eras. Spearheaded by Al-Mubda Production Company and produced by Ahmed Abdullah, the series aims to establish a high standard for traditional drama through substantial financial backing and meticulous attention to period detail.

Production values extend far beyond standard casting choices. According to the production investments, recreating the visual landscape of the 1940s required strict precision across wardrobe, authentic accessories, set decoration, and specialized shooting locations that reflect both village existence and traditional Bedouin daily life.

Ahmed Abdullah told Alseyassah that “the gamble on the series was not just on the story and the stars, but extended to providing genuine production generosity that keeps pace with the nature of heritage drama and gives it the visual form it needs, especially since reviving the 1940s era and earlier requires meticulous care regarding the sets, costumes, accessories, shooting locations, and all details tied to the temporal environment and even Bedouin life, including the minute details concerning livelihood and daily living.”

Plot Architecture and the Journey of Najib

At the center of the narrative is Najib, a young man from a Saudi village who loses his elderly parents while they travel to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. Left entirely on his own to face harsh economic realities, his path changes when a chance encounter connects him with a visiting Kuwaiti merchant.

The merchant takes pity on the young man and brings him to Kuwait to manage one of his commercial shops. However, professional advancement introduces new social friction.

Fawaz, the merchant’s son, views the newcomer as a direct threat to his own commercial standing and inheritance. Teaming up with a similarly opportunistic cousin, Fawaz begins plotting to undermine Najib and push him out of the enterprise entirely.
