The Spaniard defeats the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor and is one step closer to recovering the world number one

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz reached his 100th ATP victory on Monday night against Dutch Tallon Greek track in the third round of the Indian Wells Masters 1000, where he aspires to reget world number one.

Alcaraz, who occupies second place in the ATP ranking, surpassed Griekspoor (36th) by 7-6 (7/4) y 6-3 in an hour and 41 minutes of the game in the last game of the day on the central court in Indian Wells (California).

The 19-year-old Spanish prodigy had to row against the current throughout the primer setin which went tow on the scoreboard having trouble cracking Griekspoor’s powerful serve.

Relieved with the lead, the Spaniard released his tension and managed to break Griekspoor’s serve at the first opportunity, paving the way to the eighthin which you will run into the British promise Jack Draper (56º of ATP).

Alcaraz, who last year became the youngest male number one in history by winning the US Open, celebrated his 100th win in a total of 132 matches in his brilliant ATP career in Indian Wells.

Spanish has the chance to unseat Novak Djokovic from the top of the circuit if he wins the title of this Masters 1000 on Sunday.
