World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz easily won Sunday against Serbian Dusan Lajovic 6-0, 7-6 (7-5), continuing his merry way to the Masters 1000 in Miami, which he has already won the last year.
A week after his triumph in Indian Wells, the 19-year-old Spaniard beat Lajovic in 1 hour and 32 minutes, to sign an 8th consecutive victory without losing a set.
After a first set with no game conceded, Alcaraz found themselves slightly in difficulty at the end of the match, failing to win their serve at 5-4, in the second set, Lajovic forcing the tie-break.
Alcaraz eventually won the tie-break 7-5 to clinch their fourth victory over the Serb in as many encounters.
In search of the “Sunshine Double” (doubled Indian Wells / Miami), Alcaraz will face in the 4th round the American Tommy Paul, who had beaten him during their only confrontation, in August 2022, at the Masters 1000 in Montreal.
