What is expected of the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence, can the Armenian authorities oppose the Azerbaijani demands for the Declaration of Independence?
In a conversation with 168.am, AIM leader, politician Paruyr Hayrikyan answered these questions and said that no authority can change the Declaration of Independence, it is an accepted document.
“However, the government can leave it out of the Constitution, that is, it cannot be the main law in force in our country. Perhaps this goal is the basis of the idea of having a new Constitution.
In the conditions of this talk, the authorities should clearly say what they are striving for and what is hindering them on the way of that striving. This partiality will not make their work easier, because there are things that are common to many. The enemy who committed the genocide presents demands, after all, Aliyev is the enemy of Armenia, but for these authorities, he seems to be their father,” said Paruyr Hayrikyan.
According to him, changing the Constitution is a problem, because the government initially talked about constitutional changes, not about changing the Constitution.
“Changing the constitution is something like parenting. Levon Ter-Petrosyan had no bigger opposition than me, but when they had to talk about the Constitution, I didn’t talk about changing it, but about reforming it. Having identified black flags against Ter-Petrosyan in 1991, leaving the constitutional reform commission created by him, four years later, I spoke only about reforms.
I considered that work was done with the participation of a significant part of the people, and I was not a parent.
Those who do not have the least respect for their history, the past of their own people, start from scratch. Now we are dealing with such a figure in the person of Nikol Pashinyan. They are in favor of completely nullifying their political fathers in their politics,” stressed Paruyr Hayrikyan.
According to his definition, all this is against the concept of “nation”, moreover, the government has some orders, promises or orders that have nothing to do with the Armenian nation at all.
“God says: command your parents, they are not honored, or they have other parents whom they honor.”
