The only topic of discussion is how to change the government
After Nikol’s interview about the constitution yesterday, there is a great temptation to lead the public mood in the same way: to discuss-criticize-deny what he said. That is the wrong way. Nicol formulated his choice of choice: either another war or constitutional change.
This forces us to formulate our question and our proposal correctly.
The right question is not what was said, but who said it.
1. The one who “killed” the 3rd republic cannot talk about the “birth” of the 4th republic. It is unnatural.
2. With the slogan “Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s it”, the state and the army cannot talk about the scope of the war in favor of removing Artsakh from our constitution and forgetting it.
This is the question, and the consolidation should proceed with this emphasis. Entering into the substantive discussion of the constitution, we will make a gross mistake and give the initiative to Nikol again.
The whole problem is that the new historical realities brought to our attention by Nikol really require complex solutions, including, perhaps, legislative ones. But it is one thing to do them by the new government, finding a new negotiation narrative with the opponent, and another thing to do them under the defeated government, at the behest of the opponent. It is one thing when they are done in the context of a great peace treaty, when we put our own conditions on the line, in return for which certain concessions are made, and it is quite another thing when a defeated government “squeaks” to the end to save its own skin. for sacrificing everything, without exception.
Many complex issues can be discussed within the framework of the great peace treaty. Let me say more. it is even possible to discuss the clause of the constitution concerning Artsakh, if the right of Artsakh Armenians to live safely in the homeland is guaranteed by the contract and real guarantees. But the path that Aliyev and Nikol jointly impose on the Armenian people today is not the creation of the 4th republic, but the creation of an animal republic, where society will be replaced by an unwilling herd.
The content of the fight
Aliyev and Nikol want to make “new gypsies” out of the Armenian people. They have drawn a road map of conditions and coercion and are taking it forward. If the demand for constitutional changes is met, the very next day Aliyev will put forward new humiliating conditions (I can enumerate the list today). This is the problem, and at the end of this process we will not achieve peace, but as a nation, we will get some kind of semi-animal status and scatter around the world.
The only way to disrupt this road map of Aliyev is to change this government. Then there will be a phase of solving complex issues, also a phase of painful solutions, but they will be solutions, and not national humiliation without any guarantee of peace.
