Volkswagen presents its vision of a fully electric sports sedan in the mid-size segment in the ID. The ID.X Performance show car impresses with its powerful all-wheel drive, performance-oriented suspension system and sporty appearance.
The ID.X Performance demonstrates its dynamism through its sporty appearance. The exterior of the fully electric sedan has numerous sporty elements: both the front splitter and the rear diffuser are made of carbon.
The engineers have increased the toe-in by 80 millimeters and lowered the sports suspension by 60 millimeters with especially rigid springs. Together with the propulsion unit, this contributes significantly to performance, making the vehicle’s handling even more agile.
The vehicle rides on 20-inch sporty alloy wheels with a monoblock central nut and 265-size competition tires. At the rear, a carbon spoiler guarantees the necessary downforce. The tinted rear lights accentuate the sporty appearance of the high-performance electric sedan.
Inside the prototype Volkswagen The occupants sit on carbon bucket seats, which provide optimal support even with a dynamic driving style. Red details accentuate the sporty character of the interior.
Powerful two-motor drive with 411 kW (558 HP) and boost function. In the ID.X Performance show car, Volkswagen has supplemented the permanently excited synchronous motor on the rear axle with an additional asynchronous motor on the front axle to achieve four-wheel drive. The advantages of this type of drive are a shorter overload capacity and particularly low slip losses.

The energy for the dual-motor propulsion system is supplied by the power battery, which enables high continuous power and short charging times thanks to a capacity of up to 200 kW.
