BNP National Executive Committee International Affairs Associate Editor Barrister Rumin Farhana and Executive Committee member AKM Mozammel Haque have been accused of assault and intimidation at their residence in the capital.
On Saturday (August 3) around 12:15 pm, Rumin Farhana came live on her Facebook page and complained, ‘A group of boys came in front of her house with sticks and abused her.’
He said the boys shouted his name and asked him to get down and abused him in various obscenities. At that time, those boys broke the gate of the house.
Rumin Farhana said that she lives with her mother at Elephant Road in the capital.
Besides, a group of miscreants and some people in the identity of law enforcement officers searched for BNP executive committee member AKM Mozammel Haque’s house in Dhanmondi of the capital. However, Mozammel Haque said that he was not in that house in Dhanmondi.
He said that although he himself was not in that house, sometimes some people came to his house and abused the caretaker.
Apart from this, allegations of widespread vandalism and looting were found in the family business establishment ‘New Cafe Dhansidi’ restaurant of jailed Aminul Haque, member secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP, located in Mirpur-1. Aminul’s elder brother alleged that the incident took place at 12 o’clock in the night. He said that the entire hotel was vandalized, staff were beaten and cash was looted.
