BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed has alleged that former Vice President of Chhatra Dal Central Parliament Mahidul Hasan Hiru has been picked up by the law and order forces.

He made this complaint in a statement expressing deep concern on Tuesday (May 7) night.

In a statement, Rizvi said that the former President of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal and the former Vice President of Chhatra Dal Central Parliament Mahidul Hasan Hiru were picked up by law enforcement officers on his way to Asr prayers at 5 pm on Tuesday, but they have not found him yet.

It is said in the statement that after the members of the law and order forces picked up Mahidul Hasan Hiru in a white micro belonging to Dhaka-Metro-Ch 52-1450, it is deeply worrying that there was no trace of him until midnight. Detaining and hiding him like this is a cruel inhumanity and a terrible omen.

He said that the present dummy Awami ruling group has now taken a more intense form of violence to suppress the opposition parties and views and to frighten the people and the leaders and activists of the opposition parties including the BNP in the ongoing democratic movement. Mahidul Hasan Hiru, the former president of Dhaka University Chhatra Dal and the former vice-president of Chhatra Dal central parliament, has been arrested by law and order forces. His family members and party leaders are in deep worry and concern over his arrest and non-search.

Senior Joint Secretary General of BNP said, I strongly urge Mahidul Hasan Hiru to appear in public immediately. Otherwise, if something untoward happens to him, the Awami government will have to take responsibility for it.
