Jennifer Sheets Named New CEO of National Alliance for Care at Home
A pivotal leadership change has occurred within the home-based care sector, as Jennifer Sheets prepares to lead the National Alliance for Care at Home into its next phase of growth and advocacy.
The National Alliance for Care at Home announced on Wednesday that Dr. Steve Landers has stepped down as its inaugural Chief Executive Officer, effective February 9. Sheets, a seasoned executive with extensive experience in the industry, will assume the role on February 17.
Landers, a board-certified physician, served as the Alliance’s first CEO since September 2024. “I am deeply grateful and proud to have served as the inaugural CEO of the National Alliance for Care at Home,” Landers said in a statement. “This has been a true highlight of my lifelong career in home-based care, and I’m eager to see the continued success of the organization under Jennifer and the board’s leadership. Advancing home care and hospice should be amongst the highest public policy priorities for our country.”
Prior to leading the Alliance, Landers held prominent positions as the president and CEO of Hebrew SeniorLife, a senior living provider affiliated with Harvard Medical School, and as CEO of the Visiting Nurse Association (VNA) Health Group, a nonprofit specializing in home health, hospice, and palliative care. His departure marks the end of an era for the organization, but also signals a smooth transition with his continued support during the handover.
Sheets brings a wealth of experience to her new role, beginning her career as a nurse before moving into executive leadership. She has previously held executive positions at several leading home-based care organizations, including Caring Brands International, Interim HealthCare, Bayada Home Health Care, Gentiva Health Services, and Kindred Healthcare. Most recently, she founded and served as CEO of Carezzi, an AI-enabled technology platform designed to connect caregivers with patients and providers.
“I’m excited to help shepherd the organization into its next chapter as we continue advocating across the full continuum of care – home health, home care, palliative and hospice care – and expanding access for the patients, families, and clients we all ultimately serve, wherever they call home,” Sheets stated.
The Alliance confirmed that Landers will collaborate with Sheets and the board of directors to ensure a seamless transition, leveraging his expertise to support the organization’s continued success. This collaborative approach underscores the Alliance’s commitment to maintaining momentum in its advocacy efforts and expanding access to vital care services.
