It is the fourth time that the Skin Fund is organizing the Zonnetjesweek. A record number of childcare locations are participating. Children make crafts, colours, draw, listen to stories and sing a rub-in song. A range of materials is available that the reception location can use at will. The kids will take home the important tips: stay in the shade between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., dress against UV rays and apply plenty of sunscreen every 2 hours when you go outside. This way you can prevent skin cancer later on.

Eliza Stallinga, Kidtopia Quality Manager: ”We have registered for the Zonnetjesweek because we consider this an important subject. Sun protection is part of the daily care of children and we are very happy with the teaching material. We can inform the parents in a fun way and the children really enjoy the activities.”
Skin cancer awareness and prevention
Marijne Landman, director of the Huidfonds: “The fact that more childcare locations are participating than in previous editions says something about the increasing importance that childcare locations attach to this subject. That awareness and prevention of skin cancer, that is what we are committed to as a Skin Fund. It is fantastic to see how the locations are working with the children. We get very nice pictures.”
Ernst and Bobbie
Ambassadors Ernst and Bobbie select a number of winners from among the best photos who can go to their theater show, including a Meet & Greet. “Many young parents used to be fans of Ernst and Bobbie. They want it almost as much as the children!” says Marijne Landman. “Precisely because they have been successful for so long, they are the perfect ambassadors for the Zonnetjesweek of the Skin Fund.”
