1995 — on the night of April 12 by order Alexander Lukashenko beat the deputies of the Supreme Soviet from the opposition of the Belarusian People’s Front, who the day before announced a hunger strike against Lukashenka’s initiative to hold a referendum on changing the symbols, eliminating the status of the Belarusian language as the only state language, the right of the president to dissolve the parliament and economic integration with Russia.
