Amazon Renewed slashed the standard Nintendo Switch with Neon Blue and Red Joy-Con down to $199.90 from its $339 list price, leading the price cuts during the Prime Big Deal Days sale running through October 7, 2026. The event brings rare discounts on PC gaming hardware, multiplatform games, and storage upgrades while major console hardware mostly escapes price cuts ahead of upcoming holiday releases.
Discounts on PS5, Switch 2, and Xbox Games
Amazon’s fall shopping event arrived with a short window of limited-time offerings running through Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The sale opens at 12:01 a.m. Pacific time on Tuesday, October 6, and runs through Wednesday, October 7, with Amazon Prime members required to take advantage of the pricing. While the PlayStation 5 console itself did not receive a direct price cut, physical game collectors found notable bargains ahead of Sony’s planned end to disk production in 2028. Bethesda’s sci-fi role-playing game Starfield, which made the jump to PlayStation 5 in April, is the full base game rather than a trimmed-down edition, giving players deep character customization, ship building, and over 1,000 planets to explore.
GTA VI Launch Prevents Console Hardware Price Cuts
Console shoppers faced a distinct market environment this October. According to Gadget Flow, console makers skipped deep discounts on hardware because Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to arrive on November 19, 2026, which is expected to move systems without retailers needing to cut box prices.
