Amazon strengthens the workforce for Black Friday and already adds 1,800 workers to the Lighthouse but does not go into assessing the strike

Amazon has strengthened the workforce of the logistics center of the Empordà Lighthouse for the campaign of Nadal and of Black Friday in the midst of the workers’ strike scheduled for next Monday and Tuesday. The company avoids evaluating it, but its director, Jordi Bellana, says they will continue working “to fulfill commitments to customers” and that they respect “workers’ rights”. The facilities already have around 1,800 workers, including reinforcements for the two campaigns. “From January and February we will stabilize and see what we need for the rest of the year”, adds Bellana. Six months after its opening, the center is close to 90% of its capacity and dispatches some 400,000 daily orders.
