Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with Stavros Kalafatis, Secretary General of the ruling “New Democracy” parliamentary faction, head of the Greece-Armenia inter-parliamentary friendship group, in the Greek Parliament.
The Ambassador of Armenia expressed his gratitude in connection with the formation of the Greece-Armenia friendship group in the Greek parliament and assuming the responsible position of the president. The ambassador noted that the two countries’ coherent approaches to the existing problems in international relations provide the best opportunity to develop cooperation more closely and comprehensively, where inter-parliamentary cooperation has its important contribution.
The ambassador also noted that in the near future he expects the development of inter-parliamentary ties with Armenia and more activation of cooperation in the field of parliamentary diplomacy.
Stavros Kalafatis, for his part, emphasized that it was a great responsibility and honor for him to assume the leadership of the parliamentary friendship group with fraternal Armenia in the Greek legislature. He added that he will do everything in his power to create a viable group with active initiatives, which will make its own contribution to the further deepening of Armenian-Greek relations.
