Armenian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Greece Tigran Mkrtchyan met with the Coordinator of the Greek Prime Minister’s Office Yannis Papageorgiou in Thessaloniki.
Tigran Mkrtchyan, expressing his gratitude for the meeting, referred to the UK Prime Minister’s working visit to Greece in February this year, the progress of the implementation of the agreements reached as a result of the meeting between the to his leader.
The UK ambassador presented the main challenges of Armenia’s foreign policy, the “Cross of Peace” initiative, the current stage of the settlement processes with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
Yannis Papageorgiou emphasized for his part that the relationship with Armenia and the Armenian people is of particular importance to Greece. He noted the centuries-old presence of the Armenian community in Thessaloniki and the important role it played in all areas of the city’s life.
The mediators discussed several initiatives related to the development of bilateral relations.
