Ambulance crashes into car during emergency response – three injured

Three people were injured Friday evening when an ambulance and a car collided in Maintal, near Frankfurt.

A collision between an ambulance responding to an emergency and a passenger vehicle in Maintal resulted in injuries to three individuals, police announced.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. at the intersection of Kennedystrasse and Am Kreuzstein. According to police, the ambulance was en route to Frankfurt with its emergency lights activated when an 84-year-old driver from Maintal, also intending to travel towards Frankfurt, attempted a left turn in a Mercedes.

The circumstances leading to the collision remain unclear. Two paramedics and the driver of the Mercedes sustained injuries and were transported to local hospitals for treatment.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage and required towing from the scene. Preliminary estimates place the property damage at approximately 35,000 euros.
