AMD processors with DDR4 memory are still going to be around for another year or two. The company has introduced what is likely to be its last, a Ryzen 5 5600X3D, with which it will output the latest V-Cache 3D chips that were being used in processors such as the 5800X3D. The RRP of this processor is $229, at a time when that 5800X3D has an RRP of around $290.

It remains to be seen how it performs, but for games it should be clearly better than the 5600X which is currently over $150. Whether it makes up the difference in price will depend on the graphics card used. It might not be bad if it drops in price to give a few more years of life to a B450 motherboard and DDR4 memory, for example. The only thing that happens is that they will have to wait for BIOS updates to be able to use the processor.

This Ryzen 5 5600X has six cores Zen 3 multithreaded, running at 3.3 GHz to 4.4 GHz, with 96 MB L3 cache, which includes the 64 MB cache chiplet. Its thermal design power sits at 105 W. I imagine AMD will stick with the chip makers: the I/O chiplet is 12nm by GlobalFoundries, while the Zen 3 core chiplet is built at 7nm by TSMC.

The distribution is not going to be good and it may not reach all countries, in addition to the fact that stocks are limited, although we will see how it sells. In the US there will only be one company in charge of its distribution.
