Ameriabank successfully placed the first green bonds in Armenia

Ameriabank has issued EUR 50 million worth of green bonds, a landmark deal in the local financial market, as the first ever green bond program in Armenia. The issuance was carried out in accordance with the International Capital Markets Association Green Bond Issuance Principles (ICA).

The first Armenian green bonds were issued jointly with Ameriabank’s long-time partner, the Netherlands Development Bank (FMO), which is also the bond’s main investor. Sustainalytics, a global leader in sustainable development research and analysis, provided a second-party opinion on Ameriabank’s green bond concept, confirming its compliance with CSR and global market standards. Ernst & Young acted as an external consultant in developing the concept and aligning the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with Ameriabank’s activities.

General Director of Ameriabank Artak Hanesyan mentioned in his speech.
