President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) and his counterpart from Bolivia, Luis Alberto Arcethey entered into a phone call in which the South American president expressed his solidarity after the break-in at the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador.

Through his X account, Luis Arce indicated that he informed AMLO that he called the ambassador of Bolivia in Ecuador for this Monday, April 8 in order to evaluate the situation after what happened in Quito.

Likewise, he informed him that the Bolivian Foreign Ministry convened the ambassador of Ecuador in Bolivia to provide information about what happened on the night of Friday, April 5.

In the call, Luis Arce expressed his support for AMLO after what happened in the Embassy of Mexico in Ecuador and confirmed that the defense of the inviolable nature of diplomatic headquarters is a matter of principles.

For his part, according to the Bolivian president, AMLO highlighted the continuous support that Bolivia has provided to Mexico.

He confirmed that in the next meeting convened by the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac), Bolivia will also actively participate as a collaborating country.

In this regard, he called for meetings convened by multilateral organizations to take decisions what prevent them from being repeated events such as the one that occurred at the Mexican Embassy in Ecuador.

“As brother countries, we remain united and will strengthen our People’s Diplomacy for Life for the benefit of the integration and coexistence of our nations,” concluded President Luis Arce.

Evo Morales, former president of Bolivia, asked the government of Luis Arce to break diplomatic relations with Ecuador for the assault on the Embassy of Mexico in Ecuador.
