New Delhi: The first project for Bullet Train in the country is running between Mumbai and Ahmedabad. But, in the coming time, looking at some other trains, you will also get the feeling that Bullet Train is coming. The speed of these trains will not be like bullet trains but the engines will look the same. Yes, the speed will increase to some extent because due to the aero dynamic nature of the engine, the air pressure will decrease to some extent.
What is the railway plan?
Railways plans to install engines similar to Japan’s Shinkansen E-5 series bullet trains in some superfast trains. There is a plan to start it with Amrit Bharat Express train. Under this, engines like Kingfisher’s long beak will be installed in this train.
Where is Amrit Bharat train running?
Launched in December last year, Amrit Bharat train is currently running between Malda Town in West Bengal and Bengaluru in Karnataka, Darbhanga in Bihar and Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi. There are plans to run some more Amrit Bharat trains this year which will run on different routes. This train, which runs on push-pull technology, has engines installed on both sides. Railways is planning to replace these engines with Bullet Train engines based on the Kingfisher beak. Engines like bullet train for Amrit Bharat will be made in India only. These will not be imported from Japan or any other country.
What will happen if the engine is changed?
Installing engines like Bullet Trains in Indian trains will not only be of great benefit in terms of increasing their speed, but will also reduce electricity consumption. While coming out of the tunnel the sound will be almost zero. Railways say that currently, 88% of the electricity supplied to a train is spent on the engine and wheels. When the locos of the trains will be made like bullet trains, then the engines will be able to move faster while facing less wind. Such long beak engines will be on both sides in Amrit Bharat so that the speed of the train does not reduce in any way and there is no need to change the loco after the train reaches its destination. Experts say that currently its trial is being done from Amrit Bharat. In the coming time, Railways will start designing and installing such engines for other trains also, which will save electricity and also increase the speed of trains.
