Railways has earned this money from ticketless passengers.

According to railway officials, a checking campaign was conducted by the Railway Department in the last financial year, in which fine has been imposed on passengers traveling without tickets, traveling in trains with wrong tickets and carrying goods without freight. During this period, Railways has earned more than Rs 45 crore in just one financial year. This amount is 18.36 percent more than the last financial year. In the last financial year, Railways had received a fine amount of Rs 38 crore 9 lakh, while in this financial year it has received an amount of Rs 45 crore.

In the current financial year, a total of 722731 cases of passengers traveling without tickets, irregular tickets and carrying unbooked luggage have been detected. Railways has earned a total revenue of Rs 450704190 from these passengers.

According to railway officials, 366516 passengers were caught traveling without tickets at the stations of Bhopal Railway Division. Rs 276072990 including fare and fine was recovered from them.
