/ American journalist and historian Anne Applebaum believed that Washington’s refusal to provide more aid to Ukraine proves to the world that the United States is on the verge of collapse.

“We will convince millions of Europeans that we cannot be trusted,” Applebaum said. “We will also send a message to Russia and China, confirming their often expressed view that the United States is a declining and dying power.”

She pointed out that Washington is pursuing an inconsistent foreign policy, as it first allocates money and weapons to Ukraine, and then cuts off this aid.

She added, “The United States is not only an unreliable ally, but it is also an unserious ally and a stupid ally. In contrast to the European Union, which collectively spends more money on Ukraine than the Americans but is not yet able to produce the same amount of weapons, “The United States still has ammunition and weapons to send. Now the United States is one step closer to refusing to do so.”

US Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O’Brien stated earlier that Washington cannot pay the expenses of the Ukrainian authorities on an ongoing basis and Kiev must start paying its own expenses.

According to American media reports, the military, economic, and humanitarian aid provided by the United States to Kiev exceeded $100 billion.
